TRX stands for Total Body Resistance Exercise. It is a versatile and effective form of suspension and resistance training that uses straps and body weight to provide a full-body workout. You will target all of the major muscle groups, and improve flexibility and endurance. The level of resistance can be adjusted by changing the angle and length of the straps making the exercises easier or more challenging. Some TRX sessions might incorporate heavier dumbbells to increase the resistance put on your muscles. TRX is an excellent addition to your fitness routine. Suitable for all fitness levels.
What You Need To Know
Your TRX class will be 45 minutes of continuous movement utilizing dumbbells, the TRX straps, and body weight. Class will begin with a warm-up to prepare the body for movement. You’ll then move into the meat of your class, working the entire body by changing the strap length. Your instructor will guide you through the proper progression of movements and will provide modifications and advancements when needed. Class will end with a focused core section down on the mat that will lead you into your cool-down and stretch. TRX may look intimidating but it is for everyone!
